Local Bushel is an e-commerce platform for restaurants to source sustainable food from local farms. Local Bushel sells high-quality local food at a price and level of convenience that is competitive to commercially distributed food, empowering farmers and making good food accessible. Local Bushel’s goal is make transparently sourced ingredients the new norm and drive a fundamental shift in chefs’ expectations for quality.

Yusha Hu, Founder and CEO

At Local Bushel, Yusha is focused on building a high-performance mission-driven company. Previous to Local Bushel, Yusha led business development at Honest Buildings, a B2B marketplace for commercial building owners to find design & construction professionals. She was also in finance and operations roles at NRG Energy, one of the largest renewable energy developers in U.S. Yusha Hu holds a BA from Swarthmore College and received a Fulbright scholarship to study environmental policy in China.
Local Bushel’s leadership team includes Norm Metcalfe, who was previously VP of Engineering at Handy, and Elise Metzger, who previously led transportation operations at Amazon Prime Now in New York City.
